CERTIFIED KRIPALU YOGA TEACHER (RYT-200)

Jennifer offers private and group yoga classes in the Iowa City area, including weekly classes at Heartland Yoga Studio and Be Loved Bodywork and Yoga. Teaching with an easeful authenticity, she weaves together mindful movement and breathwork to create a gentle, calming practice that’s accessible for all bodies and all levels of yoga experience.

Jennifer’s yoga and meditation offerings are rooted in the Kripalu tradition and are also deeply informed by research into the therapeutic benefits of these modalities for physical and mental wellbeing. To that end, she has studied with numerous experts in this field, including Drs. Arielle Schwartz and Stephen Porges (Applied Polyvagal Theory in Therapeutic Yoga), Bessel Van Der Kolk (The Body Keeps the Score) and Betsy Rippentrop (Yoga for the Mind). Her 200-hr training was completed through the Kripalu School of Yoga in 2021 and was led by Michelle Dalbec and Sadia Bruce. She is currently working toward her 500-hr certification through Tiffany Cruikshank’s Yoga Medicine.

Coach

Since July 2023, Jennifer has also worked as a coach at Grit Gym, providing personal training and leading group fitness classes. She is passionate about encouraging people to find movement practices that they enjoy in order to build the strength and mobility needed to live a full and active life at all ages! As a coach, she is committed to ensuring that your workout is customized for your body and goals and that your experience at the gym feels supportive and fun!
